Airplanenut's
Charity Auction #9
Supporting Pancreatic Cancer Research
Frequently
Asked Questions
Q: I'm a bit skeptical. How can I be sure this
money is really going to charity?
A: Rest assured, everything received will be donated. If you'd like
to check my reputation, feel free to ask at the
PCGS/Collectors' Universe Message Boards--my username is airplanenut.
I have also run charity auction eight times before. An article on the
first charity auction, written by the foundation to whom I wrote a $1700
check, can be viewed on Page
Two (you will need Acrobat Reader to view this file). The eighth
auction raised $5000, and you can see a copy of the check here.
If you still have questions or reservations, feel free to contact me
here--I won't be offended, or
you can contact the Hirshberg
Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research as a reference.
Q: Who is Jeremy Katz?
A: I am a graduate of MIT and now work for Boeing Commercial Airplanes
as an engineer. I am a passionate coin collector and aviation enthusiast,
and I also enjoy helping charitable causes when possible.
Q: What is your drive to do this project?
A: I simply want to do what I can for charities. By reaching out to
a community I know, more can be done to help these fine charitable organizations.
Q: A coin I'm interested in doesn't have a picture.
How can I request one?
A: Simple. Just send an email here
and tell me which lot numbers you'd like to view. I'll take pictures
ASAP.
Q: How much is shipping/handling
A: Shipping is free.
Q: What if an item doesn't receive any bids?
A: It will be sold when the auction has come to a close, with
all money going to the charity.
Q: When do the auctions end?
A: The items close on January 20 at 7:00PM PT.
Q: What happens if I am outbid?
A: You will receive a short email telling you the new high bid.
Q: Will you (Jeremy Katz) be able to bid?
A: For this auction, the answer is yes, I will be bidding,
as each bid only means more for charity.
Q: I'd simply like to send a cash donation-- how
can I do this?
A: Just send an email to charity@jkwd.com
and I'll provide you with my address for mailing a check or money order,
or my email address to paypal payments.
Q: When the auction is finished,
how can I pay?
A: You can pay three ways. By mail, I take money orders and checks.
Online, I can accept PayPal payments. PayPal payments will incur a small
fee (I will calculate this for you) so the charity receives you full
bid after PayPal takes their cut.
